The crag on the coast, an outcrop of land
Looks out on the sea
And everyday it’s touched by the waves
That wear it continuously
But the crag has the coast to guard its back
And keep it company

Every wave it meets is different
Each with their own qualities
Some are soft and others are rough
Waves from the seven seas
But the crag has the coast as its constant
To keep it company

The waves scoop around gnaw at it’s sides
Until an arch is born
It becomes the playground for seals and fish
Until the arch falls down.
And now the crag, has no constant
The sea is all around
It’ll stand for a time, all alone
Until it is drowned
