lyrics

We went out, searching for Mars
Out in the meadows, out with the stars
Theo, Jess, Tallulah, you, me and my brother
Out for the night, out for the sight,
Of the red planet, burning so bright

Chorus
And all around us was the roundhouse
Lanterns lit the light through the wild wood
Our friends weaved around the wattle and the daub
We squeezed them all in as best as we could.

We walked through the dark dark wood
The path that we took climbed so high
The embers of the fire floated past the maple leafs
Up to join the stars to brighten the sky.

The music and the food, the drink and the talk
Flowed throughout the evening
It past through the pools and up through the trees
Up to join the moon as it announced it’s leaving

Chorus

And as the moon waned, we all waited
And announced, all as one,
We’ll hold our breath all together
And wait for the rising of the sun
